Childhood best friend has been going through pictures. She found one with my high school boyfriend. Hint for you straight dudes out there: when your girlfriend says she's going to a movie with a friend visiting from out of town, do NOT say, "I don't mind if she comes along."

Did not anticipate spending two weekends in March with my best friends. College friend visited for fun reasons, I'm in NC with childhood bestie for not good reasons. It's still good to see her, it's been too long.

Time for me to eat breakfast, so Zoey dropped a stinky poo and then got comfortable on my lap. Thank goodness for self-cleaning litter boxes, the poo is on its way into the bin. I can make her move when the stench clears, I don't want to eat before then, anyway.

Today I said that I don't like other people's spreadsheets. Which isn't entirely true. I like other people's spreadsheets when they are clearly organized and work well. I don't like them when they are ugly and nonsensical and make my brain hurt with their inefficiency.

So many distractions! Need to set multiple alarms because I need to leave the house tomorrow. Laundry is in the washer, need to move that to the dryer before sleep. Zoey is on my lap, maybe I can knit a little. Speaking of knitting, I have a Plan! We'll see if I can make it happen.

Had a weird, intense dream. We were hiding a ruby ring for someone, and the people who wanted it found out we had it. They searched a car, didn't find it because it was wrapped in a scarf with a book. I had retrieved the ring and was moving it when Zoey's Other Human woke me up.

My birthday is approaching, and tradition is that I start a new project and spend the day knitting and avoiding people. This year I'm really uncertain what pattern to knit. Torn between something big and fun or something small and quick. Should probably pick something small, because

Blocked a shawl yesterday, used a towel to dry it. The towel was hanging off of the bathroom sink to keep it separate from the towels used to dry people. Zoey was helping me pee (if you have a cat you know), was intrigued by the towel, pawed it until it fell. Then she walked out with a blanket.

Well, my sleep schedule is screwed up again. Worked until 1 last night because a deadline got moved. Started working too early today, again because deadline. Finished work, ate dinner, passed out. Now it's almost 10 and I'm wide awake. Should probably read or knit or do something productive.

Sitting outside because it's finally spring. There is a Hooded Merganser swimming in the pond, and some Mallards and Canada Geese on the shore. Tiny little duck is tiny! (And yes, autocarrot, I did mean duck this time.)

Zoey and I are arguing about what she should eat. She has three options available, but wants a fourth. But alas, it's not 4 am, it is not Churu Time. Oh, good, as I was typing she started eating her dinner.

Well. So far today I have been shouting a lot more than usual, including at actual people. (I wasn't really shouting AT those people, they just happened to be talking to me while other people sent emails that made me shout. There are Reasons I shouldn't be around people.)

Zoey had her churu and is now purring on my chest.

My cat is people. She's watching TV while sitting on a cat-sized sofa which is on the people-sized couch. (The Big Bear Valley bald eagle nest is mesmerizing!)

Tweaked my back somehow, have been taking it easy most of the day. Started four projects because why not. Two are MKALs, one of which runs for nine months, one is a hat that should be a good work project, the cowl should be good for evenings and done quickly.

Zoey is helping me knit.

I am convinced that I have something scheduled the last weekend of this month, but I can't remember what. Does anyone know what I'm supposed to do?

Zoey was feeling feisty and now my arm is bleeding. (Yes, I know to keep an eye on it in case of infection.)

Zoey held me down so I could finish the hat. Hoping the change in skeins isn't too obvious. At least it's right above a cable so if anyone notices it might look purposeful. I didn't notice the difference until I was done and took the picture.

Have reached the crown of the hat, which means I want to start something else. I have 11 rounds to go, and they get progressively shorter. It won't take that long to finish!
