So instead of watching the Falcons - which sadly I am now home and just turned it on; what the hell? - I visited my first Tim Hortons today. Good stuff. There is a place “a few miles” northwest of here that has quite a few Tim Hortons. Possibility is increasing that I visit said place next month.

Quite the intro for CBS's The NFL Today, celebrating its 50th anniversary.

I remember watching The NFL Today on a little black and white TV in my room as a kid. Very cool to see the retro graphics and hear the old music during their opening today, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the show.

And in the midst of all of this, the Braves have now had TWO 40-game stretches where they went 24-16 (following the 0-7 start, and in their past 40 games through Saturday). That’s a combined 48-32 - a 97-win pace. March 26, 2026 needs to hurry up and get here.

Man, give Bryce Elder credit. He’s found something (yes, we’ve said that before). Stabilized the rotation in the second half of the season. Big, big props to him. Would love to have him as depth option next season, and he has value now as part of a trade package (for a proven starter).

Trying not to think about something that’s bugged me all week: 85 wins might be enough for the final NL playoff spot. The Braves started 0-7, went 3-14 mid-May/early-June, couldn’t hit for the first two months, lost whole rotation, and still might finish with 75, 76 wins. Gonna be a long winter …
