There is one voice that calls out "2-for-2" with respect to the U.S. women's gold medal. Way to be, whoever that one guy is.

Scott Arniel said today that Josh Morrissey will definitely not be available for the #NHLJets in Vancouver on Wednesday. The Olympians are flying from Italy to Miami, because of the weather in the U.S. northeast. Then Morrissey will be evaluated by Winnipeg's doctors. Updates to follow that.

Canada can win enough moments and build enough small advantages to earn the scoring chances that tie this up. Force the miracle moment and Finland's D will be right there. Let's go 🍁

Celebrini is so good at picking lanes for McDavid and MacKinnon to find him. The scoring chances add up partly because 97 and 29 are freakish playmakers but partly because Celebrini attacks exactly the right ice for passes to make it through.

Perhaps no team at this tournament I'd trust to park the bus than Finland. The Finns aren't going to lose their shape in the d-zone, so Canada will have to battle for a foot or two of space and make good on the chances they earn. Let's go 🍁

Marie-Philip Poulin going down the line offering hugs to every single teammate is some seriously good humaning during the heartbreaking moment.

Devastating finish for Team Canada. Couldn't get that bus parked in the third. Couldn't score on the power play to put it away. But it was there for them. They'd given themselves a chance to hold on. Heartbreaking.

Team USA's shutout streak ends after 352 minutes and 17 seconds of tournament play.

Just so much more belief in the possibility of gold after that first period by Team Canada.

Winnipeg Jets fans worried about Connor Hellebuyck's .900 save percentage this season — a career worst — might take solace from how well he's playing behind a quality defence for Team USA. Make the reads a bit more predictable and he'll make the saves.

Hope Josh Morrissey is ready for the semis. Team Canada got into trouble at times with a lack of composure at the offensive blue line. Didn't nail the risk/reward, didn't always get the puck through.

Spent the weekend winning the Apuckalypse Now hockey tournament. (Kissed the trophy on purpose, the ice not so much 😅)

Josh Morrissey left the game partway through today's second period. Cruel, particularly after missing the 4 Nations final due to illness. Hoping for good news on his health. He'd been good, too. Just excellent 1v1 D against Pastrnak in the first. He belongs at this level.

Extra large shoutout to my daughter, who slept peacefully on my chest until the instant the first period ended, then woke with a start and pooped during the commercials. This kid knows.

It's hard to watch 🍁 so outclassed, unable to find time or space in the middle of the ice. The rivalry series was no joke and this hurts, too. May MPP make a heroic, late tournament return.

100 percent, that nearly 6 minute goalie pull was Winnipeg's last gasp at playoff race relevancy this season. That's it, that's all, their February meetings will be about how to navigate the wreckage.
