Merlin said the bird making a particular bird call was unlikely, but it kept identifying it and sure enough we found it - and its nest. Not a great photo - it was cloudy and overcast again this morning when we were #hiking - but #LiferPie, a brown-headed nuthatch. 🪶

My GBBC today ended up at 1 bird today. A red-shouldered hawk squawked at the top of a neighbor's tree for 20 min. I've heard it squawking in either our or the neighbor's trees every day for the past 4-5 days. I guess this explains the bluebird feathers I found the other day. #BackyardBirds beware!🪶
