Incredibly impressed with how the season 2 finale did nothing I expected, yet wrapped up in a way that entirely satisfied without holding our hands through it. Fireworks on the roof. Digby’s new friend. Robby and Baby Jane Doe. And a chef’s-kiss credits scene. Fantastic.

“Not all men” - okay, but 62 million site visits in one month is a staggering number, no? Imagine 62 million instances of any other demographic engaged in violence, watching it for entertainment, and forming support groups for that purpose. We’d damn sure be asking what the hell is going on.

Important thread and my primary concern for the legal profession in the US as well. Lawyers learn and develop judgment by rolling up their sleeves and digging into the statutes and case law. Over-reliance on AI seems poised to rob them of that critical experience.

Despite my initial skepticism, I have to admit that this show is firing on all cylinders. In 30 seconds’ time they referenced a Jake Paul-Morgan Freeman fight and a Kyrie Irving memoir entitled IF THE EARTH IS ROUND, WHY CAN’T I DUNK IT? I nearly wet my pants.

Phone brought the CHVRCHES song “Clearest Blue” up on shuffle and reminded me of this film, which features it. One of the best crime films in recent memory, based on a terrific novel. See the movie, read the book, and put this song on repeat. You’ll thank me later.

Tonight’s viewing. A patient, spare, sometimes brutal film with an all-in performance by Olivia Wilde that really should’ve gotten much more buzz. Loses a little steam in the final act, but it’s well worth a watch.

Kudos for trying to be candid with the court, but “we, the undersigned attorneys, relied upon our client for what the law allows” isn’t a particularly satisfying explanation. I’ll be curious to see what the court does with that.

Re: “The Pitt” episode 11. The fact that the camera stays on Dr. Robby even though he’s not the one being asked this question is such a chilling choice.

Caught up on season 2 last night. If next week’s episode isn’t just 50 minutes of Nurse Dana leading a beatdown of golfer dude, I’ll be sorely disappointed.

I’ve seen this too often, and no one seems to be learning the lesson. Do your own research and write your own motions and briefs. At a minimum, check every case citation yourself before you submit it. If this is too much work, practicing law is not for you.
