I've seen the wild turkeys at the park only twice, but they visited earlier this month and left something behind.

Found something new growing at the park yesterday. This is Virginia waterleaf.

Something new! So far the only signs of spring have been a few plants in one small section of the park. Hopefully the warmer weather coming in the next week awakens the rest of the park.

It’s been a cool and blustery Easter, so here’s a picture of the blossom at Clun taken just over a week ago. I've photographed this scene many times over the years and always try to come up with something different. I like this shot as the blossom provides a perfect frame for the bridge. #Shropshire

Green buds have been spotted!

It was kind of rude how these clouds just barged in on Friday.

This tree is standing on its own, but the question is for how long. Another tree was supporting this one, but it gave way and this one is now is dropping. I no longer have to stretch to give this a high five.

If I squint I can imagine that the grass is more green than it was on Sunday. I will probably also take pictures when I see the first dandelion. C'mon spring!

This field is abandoned and and is reverting to prairie. I'd love to see that happen more often.

It was way off the trail, but I found something green and growing. We have almost made it to April.

A dip into the archive for today's post. I came across this ivy clinging on to a painted metal water tank outside a cottage on one of my countryside wanders. Poking the camera through the hedge I was able to get some shots of this colourful subject

Goal achieved - 1500 miles on the exercise bike. If I go 30 additional miles I will have the equivalent of biking from my home to Brownsville, Texas, on the Mexico border.

Here's a follow-up to last night's post. We had a blizzard on 3-15. This shot was taken 6 days later on 3-21. Everything was clear and dry except the road. My "lost clearing" was on the far right edge. It's not very welcoming when the worst section of the park is the road into it.

I never got the shot I wanted with this area of the park, but this turned out to the the last time I saw it. Less than 3 weeks later they bulldozed everything in the lower section and the little clearing is no more.

On Sunday we had a foot of snow. On Saturday it was so warm that a tee-shirt and shorts were appropriate. I could not believe that the trail was in nearly the same condition as last Saturday. It's like the snow never happened.
