This is well worth some attention simply for the close data analysis. My anecdotal experience is having seen a number of ‘new’ people coming to church over the past year outside of advent/holy week, only a handful of those have return. We have new members but mostly joining from other churches.

I’m surely not the first to say this, but today the word ‘doomscrolling’ feels overwhelmingly resonant.

The 6 year old and I are filling our half term day today by making a film about dinosaurs. They declared that the living room was the studio, and went to cast their dinosaurs. I moved my furniture, and they came back and went: “Yah, this looks, like, soooo good, I mean really, like, soooo good” 😂

My Grandfather chose to culturally assimilate in the UK, but proudly insisted he was Ukrainian. His home town is currently occupied by Russia. And now the future of that community is being determined by the invading force and a foreign nation without reference to their elected representatives.

The only book I’ve managed to read cover to cover in the last month. Compelling dreariness in the most unlikely place to one would think humans would be bored with routines, yet it feels alive and real, filled with beauty, heartache, and miracle. My goodness, I love this book!

I am glad to see this post. The work of supporting survivors and preventing abuse should be front and centre of Church activity, recognising the missio dei in liberation from all abuse and recognising God’s preferential option for survivors of abuse in the person of Jesus.
