A turn-based JRPG won Game of the Year.

This was my first gut reaction, and I second-guessed myself, saying, "It's okay, it's not a big deal." But actually, I kind of do really dislike the direction. Part of what made Control special was that it felt like a legit successful 3D Metroid-like, down to the protag being a tough explorer chick.
