Okay now that #figureskating is back on, one thing about the men’s competition I haven’t seen very many people talking about that I thought about before Friday and honestly think is what affected everyone more than poor ice conditions, and it’s the random extra day off between programs.

Comforting myself by watching my other favorite Ilya on the ice. As to the question of who was more unhinged in the hotel gym after the draft, Shane for not bringing water or Ilya not bringing music, I have to go Ilya.

I've watched many figure skating competitions in my life & that was by far the worst. Just skater after skater leaving me sad. I'm low-key horrified that a gold medalist had that little artistry, but he went out there and didn't implode (& did a quad after a 3 axel, hello??), so it's well deserved

Have we considered unplugging the figure skating and plugging it back in????

I did not realize that fs fandom at large hated Ilia but I should’ve known. It’s like that with anyone who consistently is on top even with mistakes given the technical prowess. People also hated Plushenko, Yuzu at first (some of y’all are too young to remember the hate after Sochi), and Nathan.

Okay idk what’s up with the figure skating broadcasts lately, and I was hoping it was just a fluke at nationals and the Grand Prix final, but you can barely hear the skaters’ music anymore, which makes it hard to follow and enjoy the programs. Fix it pls.
