Idk who needs to hear this, but voice actors AND authors alike: $750- total, not PFH- is not a fair rate for a TWENTY HOUR audio book. 💀 It’s on the low end for a 5 hour book, just for scale.

Had one of the best days I’ve ever had in VO yesterday. Amazing sessions, passionate creators, whole virtual rooms of talent and enthusiasm where I was a participant and not just an observer. This career is such a gift. I can’t believe I get to do these amazing things. 🥹

Unexpected benefit of moving: my cat is happier. I don’t know that he was depressed per se, but now he plays with toys, gets the zoomies, and enjoys lounging on the balcony (he used to avoid the front door). Even the fur baby likes having more space.

The “problem” with vaccines? They so effective at preventing deaths that they create generations of people that question whether disease was a problem in the first place because they have never experienced the horrors of a world without vaccines.

Still alive! Summer was just way more eventful than I thought it would be- new (used) car, new apartment, sudden influx of VO work. Life is chaos but good! Stupid lucky, especially with how the world around us is going these days.

Sometimes we’re unsatisfied with a thing we made because when it only existed in our head, we saw all the things it could have been and when it’s done we know all the things that it isn’t, but we can’t see the way it expands into a million new things when someone else unpacks it in their head. 🖊️🦑

On Monday, I found out I was moving on Tuesday. On Tuesday, I climbed a million stairs. On Wednesday, my parents helped move my furniture. On Thursday, I turned in the keys to the old place. I’m exhausted and strung out, but I’m in a better place and I’m back in the booth. 💪🎙️

Thor has spoken. Not only that, but he won’t shut up. No more recording for now.
