Here's one for all the "my vote doesn't matter" and "who cares...a presidential team is only 4 years" folks out there.

It happens.

One of my all-time favorite books -- and all-time favorite movies. Unlike Chandler, I didn't have the good fortune of hearing Normal Maclean read his beautiful words, but sometimes I soothe myself on a restless night by hearing them spoken in my head by Robert Redford, as narrated in the movie.

May it be so in the U.S.

I'd love to see more of this. It amazes me how many companies, even companies with strong policies that I support (DEI, shop small and local, source from local vendors, etc), still show on their websites that they have an account on Twitter. Like...why?

146 workers died in the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire on this day in 1911. The bosses responsible were never held accountable for the awful working conditions that sparked the blaze. Remember this today as politicians and their corporate backers attack workplace safety.

Rapid City, SD showing up! Presidential statues are a hallmark of downtown Rapid. The orange menace's was just installed a few months ago. I think they're privately commissioned. It's on a prominent corner right in the middle of downtown, but that doesn't mean the community can't make a statement.

All this winning is so exhausting.

The entire service at my Unitarian-Universalist church this morning was an Indigo Girls retrospective, with a focus on their musical and lyrical messages of social justice and inclusion -- and lots of singing along from the congregation -- and this is the type of religious energy we need in 2026.
