I believe this is a golden age of children's literature. There are books being published today that will shape the minds of generations; life-changing books whose readers will change the world. There really is a book for EVERYONE now - if we can just help every reader find those books!

Given my profession and interests, the fact that I can’t spell Freire naturally and without triple checking is a problem. Forget about “Freirean”.

I know I’m in my critical/media #literacies era, but at my heart I am a developmentalist. We ignore all of this research & glorify Finland who doesn’t. Let’s do phonological assessment to help kids with dyslexia/ld - let the kids explore and learn self-reg without stressing sight words at age 5.
