I think that sounds possible & maybe likely! We see it frequently in our larger (robin size & up) bird visitors in their preferred dirt spots, but it makes sense to me that this little Chickadee found a perfect spot on your deck! Just sooo special 🥰

The deck is an interesting location, but it clearly suited this cutie 🥰 Wondering if it was finding tasty bites in the cracks between the boards, too? Sometimes our little bird friends get obsessed on the deck because they are finding insects(?) worth eating between the planks 🤷‍♀️

This is a new one to me. I was lounging in sun, when this Black-capped Chickadee flew in, landed on deck & immediately spread itself out in the sun & breeze. Uninjured. Splayed itself out for nearly 5 min, then popped up, ruffled feathers, folded wings & took off. Guess, like me, sunning?! Cool!

A pleasant 65°, sunshine & a gentle breeze. Mowed last evening, down to the river this AM, couple of small rainbows on a streamer, quickly released. Neighbor got a new skid steer & asked if he could try it out on my gravel lane. Smoothed out sev potholes for me. Now, back deck time.

Looked it up & takes 25-27 days from egg laying to when an American Robin leaves the nest. Today, is earliest I've ever seen a juvenile Robin following parent around yard begging for food! Had to look twice! Means nest was built & egg was laid in April. Shows how mild our winter was this year!

He’s back!!! We just captured male Bobolink LGB (light blue, green, blue) for the third year in a row here in Oswego. That means he’s been down to Paraguay and back at least three times- flying roughly 30,000 total miles! Simply an incredible feat for a bird that weighs as much as six nickels. 🤯
