Season 1 of AgBr.app is a wrap! 19 gorgeous black and white film emulations, a fluid editing workflow for iOS/macOS/iPadOS, presented in a beautiful minimalistic design. Thanks everyone for your support, we've got lots of exciting things for 2026 :)

Our ongoing goal with AgBr.app is to build a black & white film emulator that produces images indistinguishable from scans of real film. The new Film Size control is something we've wanted since the very beginning, and getting it right was tricky - finally, it's out.

The original Mac OS fit in 64kB, Pokémon Red fit under 512kB So I am just obsessed with shipping lightweight app binaries There’s still some tricks I could use to slim down some of those, it’s on my todo list- even if it won’t affect sales or make a big difference, it’s part of the craft

Just released update 1.1 for LutLab.app! A small update that lets you open .CUBE files straight from the Finder (macOS) or Share menu/Files app (iOS/iPad OS). You can also now resample large LUTs down to 17×17×17, 33×33×33, or 65×65×65, for maximum compatibility with apps.

Some test shots from a camera app I prototyped many years ago. It never got to a stage where I was fully happy with it and it went in the unfinished projects pile... maybe something to revisit someday. (heliographe.studio for apps that shipped and that you can actually download 🙃)

We are living in a three-dimensional physical world, and it's a quirk of mammalian evolution that we are trichromats; it works out nicely for visualizing color spaces.

The mesmerizing work of Sergei Prokudin-Gorsky - by far the best known and most prolific trichrome photographer - inspired me to create Trichromy.app over 10 years ago now.

Update 1.6 for Trichromy.app is out~ Experiment with the oldest color photography technique, right on your iPhone! Truth be told this is my least successful app, but I love using it so I can't help but keep updating it 😅

EXIF Inspector: a compact metadata viewer I wrote to solve a personal need. Runs on iOS/iPadOS/macOS, with support for drag & drop/multiple windows/kb shortcuts/file system + Photo Library integration, and more. Part of PhotoTools.app. And as always: free, no ads, no tracking, no bullshit.

The larger telephoto sensor on the iPhone 17 Pro (1/2.55") really does make for a nice increase in quality coming from the iPhone 15 Pro Max (1/3.5"). Combined with the slightly wider (& better for my taste) 4× means I've found myself shooting way more with it (app is BayerCam.app)

Upgraded to an iPhone 17 Pro after 2 years on a 15 Pro Max. I always found the 5× way too tight for my liking, so far the 4× feels much better (the camera app is BayerCam.app)

We just released a new emulsion for AgBr.app: K17, based on an early 00's Infrared Konica film stock In November and December, we intend to drop 2 new films to finish the year; and we're working hard on a new feature that we'll be very excited to share with you :)

Concerts are a great example of a photography situation where the iPhone's auto focus/auto exposure will kind of fall apart and make it hard to capture the exact shots you want. Locking ISO/shutter speed/focus in BayerCam.app is a breeze and made this event super easy to capture

Our first acquisition: very excited to announce that @iconfactory.com has entrusted us with BitCam.app, the best 1-bit camera for iPhone. No changes for now — it'll take a bit of time to modernize this 10 year old app — but I have lots of ideas for it. Stay tuned :)
