The reason I made this post last night is because of a conversation I saw happening. In it, game devs were talking about how composers don't play games they are working on. The reasons ranged a bit, some going so far as to say composers aren't gamers so having them play the game is pointless. 🧵

Looking back on it, #PacificDrive was a fun but very unusual project to work on - writing the individual pieces went by pretty quickly, but creating each "instrument" from scratch could take weeks of recording, editing, programming, and looking for happy accidents out in the real world! #gamemusic

Part of Calico's soundtrack was inspired by Breath of the Wild 🎹🌲 A lot of my game soundtrack work falls more firmly in the digital fusion genre, with plenty of electronic instruments and effects, so it was lovely to write something improvisational on the piano as a change of pace.
