Update: it seems the DOJ attorney, Mr. Renfer, has resigned over this. It is a plausible action in all fairness, but given that the judge had mused about questioning Mr. Renfer's higher-ups regarding their knowledge, this could also be a tactic to halt the inquiry and prevent such questioning.

Have said this before but forcing district judges to handle this on their own without support from the Chief Justice or Judicial Conference is a failure of leadership. Court-watchers may argue that higher courts don't want to become implicated as partisan in cases that may reach them, but—

The time for granting trust has passed. It's understandable that many attorneys would stay on for the sake of family or personal survival, but that understanding should not encompass trust in their actions, which by now have been bent to the bad faith demands of the administration.

People continue to ask what Dems can do in the minority. THIS shows something they can do. They can show genuine outrage at something that is genuinely outrageous. You can't expect the people to do all the work to elect you and then in return do nothing when real concerns are trampled.

Why are Dems not flooding every channel and outlet they can with the same question. Where is the outrage. The public can't be expected to remain angry when elected leadership shows no actual leadership.
