The National Science Foundation sign on our Eisenhower Av building is now gone. The NSF mural in the foyer is removed and torn off in sheets. We were supposed to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the agency in May 2025. That never happened.

On my walk today, Kristen Modafferi crossed my mind. She went to my high school and was a few years younger than me. She disappeared in San Francisco in June 1997, less than a month after her 18th birthday. They never determined what happened to her, although there is lore. Still gives me chills.
