I actually kind of believe the likes Platner & Brett Kavanaugh when they say they have no memory of committing sexual violence. Not just because these guys were so drunk at the time, but also because committing sexual violence is so banal to them that it’s not distinct enough to be remembered.

And what I don’t think women understand is that men face so few consequences for rape, and experience their own raping as so smoothly continuous with the rest of their sex lives, that it’s not so much that these guys gamble that they’ll get away with it as that they simply never think of it again.
