Another hot and humid morning walk today. I am enjoying a day off for the Independence Day holiday, and I was sure hike early in the "cooler" 74°F / 23°C temperature. A thing to remember in 7 months or so.

Gardens are really blooming now. Weeds have gotten out of control in places, but still enjoyable viewing on my morning walk.

Back on our home fields for an overcast and humid morning walk.

On our evening walk, we went on a trail through the woods that led to the New York/Connecticut border I imagine that Grace wanted to return to the New York side where the sheepdog trial is located. Seriously, there were other people in the woods that she was hearing.

This evening’s walk we walked to the top of the trial field to take in the view. This is opposite of the view from yesterday. Logan and Grace only have eyes for where there might be sheep.

View on my morning walk. Yesterday brought some much needed rain. Nice to have sunshine, but more rain would be good too.

Morning walk view. Two deer were grazing in the pasture when we came out. They skedaddled as soon as they sensed our presence. Good news was that meant no coyotes today.

Excitement on our morning walk. Dogs were tooling around in the pasture grass while I walked along edge to take morning view picture, as usual. Then I see a coyote sitting watching the dogs. When it saw me it took off to the left and Grace and Logan went after it. Jojo was oblivious.

Farewell Ike May 31, 2014 - June 16, 2026 I got Ike as a hiking buddy when he was three years old. Then he literally changed my life - I took up sheep herding, bought a farm, we traveled to events, and made many new friends. I more than liked Ike. I loved him all my heart.
