Smell of French equivalent of deep heat after finally getting an appointment with a kiné! Has taken me 4 years between family crises and medical PTSD issues to actually get it sorted 😆 Am now booked in twice a week for eternity! (Kiné is a very nice lady, too)

Have emerged from my day of duvet forting after sister went home. We had a lovely visit, and was sad to see her go. But she liked what we've done with the place, and enjoyed the area, so I hope she'll come back! Am shattered still, but have at least made it to the sofa today!!

Well, house is clean and about as tidy as it will ever get! Now to clean self and head for Limoges!

Clearly didn't wash hands enough after putting together slow roast lamb to go in ninja tomorrow while I go and pick up sister. My mandarin tastes rather strongly of garlic.... 🤢

Getting ready for sister to come qnd visir for 1st time since moving here. Am flarey and exhausted and really not feeling up to guests, but not really easy to put off something planned this far in advance and that requires a plane journey that can't be refunded. Praying the adrenaline will kick in 🤞

Ron is now sporting the very latest in designer tracking wear (he even matches the decor!)

He's gone long... don't think I'll be moving much for a while!

Rubbish night's sleep, in parts due to overstimulation, forgetting to turn the heating off before I went to bed, and for the most part a very purry, snorey, wriggly Ron-bear!

Still no Lap, but today is our 5 year wedding anniversary (24 years together in November, just got the bit of paper to make things easier as we age!) Was a lovely day, during Covid restrictions, so only us and 2 witnesses, but that was perfect as I never wanted the big party and all that!

Stress baking and cooking. Have made about 40 portions of soup and a number of banana bread bars. Freezer is getting a bit tricky to fit stuff in now!

Well, M. Lapin's still not home. Ruddy pesky feline. Praying he's locked in and not gone permanently like my lovely Alice who has now been missing for 2 months 😭

And in a case of Groundhog day here in rainy Corrèze... Lapin has gone walkabout again. Am getting so tired of worrying about ruddy cats.

Have had to put on a jumper and the heating today - but temps in mid to high 20's due again at the weekend. Make it all make sense!!!

Early morning blood test to start off September, bit of shopping and now fall of government and possible tangerine shitgibbon shenanigans to follow with a big vat of popcorn! Happy Monday folks 😆

Our grass seed is coming along nicely (except for the bits where the moles/rabbits have been re-establishing their tunnels after we destroyed them clearing the weed jungle!) And Ron says 'Have a happy, snoozy #Caturday'

In exceptional news, Lapin is here. He may well have been here along. He just padded down from the attic as if nothing was wrong. He has just had the longest lie-in, ignored me calling him over 30 times since 8am, and has now stuffed his face and is playing with Ron. He is a complete sod.

In the trials of a country cat owner, Lap has now been missing since treat time last night (about 9pm). I can't cope with this. I cannot lose 2 of them within 5 weeks. He has to come home and quickly.

Don't know if it's a hangover from needing to prove myself so much in the UK, but despite ticking the box on the form for my disability renewal here in France that says nothing has changed, and it saying no need to fill the rest in, I have filled the rest in!!

My potager is not large, and we tend to see progress much later than most, but despite the weird weather conditions, it is giving me a rather nice selection of goodies!

The boys do not seem happy with the weather... but they are very handsome ❤️

Hubby spent most of his time off work while he was here digging out the nettle and creeping buttercup jungle on the whole of the left side of the garden. I have just put down the grass seed on the the bit he cleared that hadn't had any yet, as I am praying we get some rain in the upcoming days!!

Am at at least 20 Calvin's of exhaustion after a delightful lunch with my lovely builder, Max, and his wife, Sam. Was so nice to have a good natter and scoff greek food (made by me!) together - and especially to see their reactions to the changes in the house as has been 4 years since Sam saw it!

Aidan's supawviser seems to be snoozing on the job ❤️

Meymac sur Bordeaux wine fair was lovely. About 12 vineyards represented, all with connections to Corrèze (and we even have 1 vineyard in Corrèze and it turns out their rosé is fabulous!) We have spent money we didn't have, but now have some very nice wines in the rack!!

Déchetterie run complete. Nice chat with neighbours and their son and daughter-in-law who are over from Aus visiting, now to bath and go to the salon des vins in Meymac 🥂

Feels such a long time ago that I answered questionnaires and spit in a tube, but the results are beyond what I think any of us suffering with ME could ever have hoped. 🤞 this will be the start of further research into phenotypes and possible treatments so we can get our lives back

Happy #caturday folks. My morning started with snuggles with my boys (in the dark for M. Lapin, of course!) They are now out and about doing furry things, while we gear up to do 'garden stuff'. I will mostly just be supervising, I think!

Grouting today, having finished the main section of the room yesterday (leaving the end by the back door until the wetroom is done as there will need to be some concrete removal to do that and don't want tiles to get damaged.) Hate grouting, well, I hate the constant wiping down bit anyway!

Sofa came this morning. Seems comfy enough through the packaging! Unfortunately, still got the rest of the tiling to finish before it comes inside, and I need a day doing nothing as am broken again! Hoping promised storms tonight will not be too problematic as barn is open at the front!

Still no sign of Alice. Was really hoping she'd come sauntering in this morning, squeaking loudly about her adventures, but still no sign. My trying to distract myself project is coming along ok though.

Sadly, still no Alice, but have a great Fête Nationale all my lovely chums in France 🎆🎇🎆
