The Ethiopian Rift Valley, home to one of the largest fields of volcanoes on earth, may have also been home to the first ‘modern’ humans. Professor Clive Oppenheimer @camunigeography.bsky.social believes it is no coincidence that our human origins are found in such a volcanically-active region.
