Back in London, and being a mixed faith family, we've got both Passover and Easter going on right now. Cooked a slow-roasted shoulder of lamb, with red onions, garlic, tomatoes, thyme and potatoes. (Diana Henry's fabulous Simple Greek Lamb recipe - our annual Easter ritual!)💐

My dad only started venturing into the kitchen during Covid, during which he discovered to his surprise a real love of baking. Now he's making such wonderful bakes as this orange almond cake he prepared for us this Passover, based on Claudia Roden's iconic recipe. Very proud of him, my dad! 🍊

Of all the firsts after mum's death, Passover was always going to be the hardest. The seder is a repository of intimate family memory - layer upon layer - where we reminisce over the words & ways of loved ones no longer at the table. Mum's chair was empty this year, but her presence so deeply felt.

When your mother-in-law is a fabulous baker and makes you Benjamina Ebuehi's cherry & coconut tahini cake. Such a lovely surprise! 🎂

I love how Anna Ansari evocatively weaves personal memoir and historical narrative into her cookbook, Silk Roads. I really enjoyed making her 'Risotto Alla Bukarese', Anna's homage to the Bukharan Jewish rice dish, bakhsh - a dish brought to Central Asia by Jews fleeing Persia in the 6th century. 🌿
