Found fresh pasta sheets but forgot to buy a lemon. Lots of prep dishes (& washing up!) and quite fiddly rolling the tubes. It did taste very good though.

Apple, honey and poppyseed cake As I had no poppyseeds mine was just apple & honey! I've never made a cake with honey instead of sugar so was a bit nervous. No need as it turned out perfectly. I'll be making this again.

I have a proof of Anita "Spring" Council's cookbook, Southern Roots: Recipes and Stories from Mama Dip's Daughter, and it's absolutely wonderful. Visiting her mother's restaurant was one of the best experiences I've ever had; her daughter has done her proud.

Superb! Easy to make & beautifully soft inside with a sweet crisp top. Split & filled with delicious Baron Bigod cheese. Also had some filled with cherry jam. I'll make these again.

Chickpea and salt cod soup Substituted the chickpeas with white beans and used hake as I could not find any salt cod. A really tasty and filling lunch - even though it's not Friday!
