I wrote this piece with some hesitation; I did not want readers to assume I hold certain negative views about law enforcement in general. I wore my own badge with pride. But ICE’s behavior is so far beyond the pale that those of us with experience have a moral duty to decry its actions.

The first time I heard an Army chaplain conflate biblical “peacemakers” with “da TrOoPz” I was taken aback. The 500th time I heard it… still taken aback, to be honest. “Send me” & “no greater love” seem like a jump ball, but this one always rubs me wrong.
