Today I started organizing my lists of favorite music of 2024 (LPs, EPs, and singles). I have three lists going: my top tier favorites, stuff I enjoyed a lot but wouldn’t call any fave yet, and then stuff I heard for the first time in 2024 but came out some time between 2020-2023.

Everything I’m currently reading is difficult and painful but also so so essential right now.

I feel like most of my writing comes in one of two modes: romanticizing everything/elegiac, or incandescent with rage. I think my best writing happens when I manage to bring both modes into one piece. I am trying to figure out how to do this more often, and more intentionally.
