Five days ago, an ICE agent shoved a woman asking questions about the detention of her husband. Today they attacked two journalists. We cannot accept or normalize what has now become routine violence at 26 Federal Plaza. It has no place in our city.

NEW: Rachel Maddow drops unseen bodycam footage of feds coordinating the arrest of Newark Mayor Baraka. I REPEAT: the feds ordered his arrest even though he wasn’t breaking any laws. Federal agent: “We are arresting the mayor right now per the Deputy Attorney General of the United States.”

Republicans just brought the House into session for a total of 2 minutes.   Democrats tried to bring up legislation to keep government open, keep children on their insurance, and keep health care costs from doubling.   Then they adjourned. The GOP will own this shutdown.

President Trump and Republicans are refusing to negotiate with Democrats to prevent healthcare costs from skyrocketing and avoid a government shutdown. A shutdown will be on President Trump’s shoulders – and he agrees.
