Research from @heriotwattuni.bsky.social has provided fresh evidence of racism in our housing and support systems. Black people face dramatically worse outcomes when it comes to housing support, this compares with 24% of White-led homeless families. Everyone deserves a safe and decent home.

Black and Black Mixed heritage people face lots of barriers to getting a social home – whether that's racism or discriminatory policies. These aren't always in your face but part of the system which can exclude people.

Home is your stepping stone to a better quality of life. But for Uche, and other Black and Black Mixed heritage people who may have faced racial discrimination, accessing a safe and secure social home can be an uphill struggle with many more hurdles along the way. 🚧🏠
