The Tate Modern has this great exhibition called Walk the House by Do Ho Suh and its all about homes he lived in and what home means to him and I have a very fractious relationship with the entire concept of home so walked through the entire thing both awestruck and close to tears. Now going again

There’s a Feeding the Future exhibition at the Science Museum that is so interesting and I was fascinated and I haven’t seen it advertised anywhere so I’m sharing the knowledge. (Unfortunately not impressed by new space gallery)

There were two Signac painting in the exhibition of suburban women trapped in domesticity who were obviously longing to go out into the world they could see through the window and the realisation of ‘holy shit, I can go out whenever I want, no one to stop me’ was a huge boost to my mood

There is a poet in Trafalgar Square, creating poems on request, typed on a typewriter. I asked for one about his typewriter and I love it. It’s like - like the old days of itinerant minstrels making up songs on request

Loved the exhibition so much I joined National gallery as a member so I could come back again (and also there’s a Joseph wright of derby exhibition coming up). And they now do an ‘add to Apple wallet’ thing for the card so I don’t have to remember to carry it which makes life easier for me.

Neo-impressionist exhibition at National Gallery extraordinarily beautiful. Kind of exhibition than makes me rethink things - Signacs portraits of women looking longingly out the window stirred something and the landscapes are breathtaking.

Beginning to think of auditioning for other voice roles now - I had no confidence in my voice when I started but I think it’s got better and I’ve had some training so thought I might try. I’d like to expand into other roles.

I’m not sure people who haven’t read Dracula understand how terrifying it is - not just in Dracula himself but the days before, when they have no idea what it’s happening, only that people are dying and no one knows why. The build up is incredibly well done

That night that Lucy’s mother died is terrifying - all the coincidences and mistakes meaning Lucy is left alone, her mother scared to death in her arms, the relentless attack on the home, Lucy knowing she is alone and unprotected and that HE is coming #redracula

Funny thing about seeing Raiders of the Lost Ark for the first time in ages last night - there’s a moment where the Ark, sealed in a box, burns the Nazi symbol off the box and I didn’t realise until last night - that’s the first time we realise this is a supernatural force, not just a box

I’ve finished Moby Dick and I absolutely loved Moby Dick. All that obsession and deep bonds and loyalty and the diversions into pages long explanations - all of it appealed to me

You know that part in Dracula where Mina and Lucy sit in the graveyard in Whitby every day and the sailors tell them stories? Moby Dick feels like the kind of story they would tell, a story of obsession and destruction, with segues into anatomy and science and religion

Jaws at IMAX is incredible. Still makes me jump, even when I expect it, even more on big screen. More aware of the build up of tension like moments before Alex Kitner is killed. Also character moments - Brody’s awestruck hero worship at Quints first scene, Quints fear when realises shark under boat

Spent a long time in the cinema yesterday and saw the trailer for Nolan’s Odyssey. It looked interesting, Jon Berthnal magnetic as always onscreen. Will have to read the Odyssey again before I watch it
