Um dos grandes fatores que levaram a que eu fosse um verdadeiro rato de biblioteca, durante a minha infância e até à minha adolescência foram os livros da Alice Vieira, especialmente os que tinham histórias mais sitas nas cidades ( CADERNO DE AGOSTO, trilogia da Mariana, ÚRSULA A MAIOR).

A tomar conta da minha prima de 12 anos e ela estava a ver a minha estante e a decidir o que queria ler ou espreitar da mesma, e eis que ela pega no meu exemplar de A ESPADA DO REI AFONSO da Alice Vieira. Expliquei a premissa e ela disse "Okay parece fixe. Vou ler este." Vitória! Starr then young.

Listening to Dave & Alonso talk about the NYT's Best films films of the Century list was just *chef's kiss* That was a really boring list man... especially when compared to NYTimes' list of the Greatest Actors of the 21st Century! That was a much more interesting list! Unexpected choices were made.

I enjoyed ELIO but I did feel that its weak point was the script at times. It needed more time "in the oven". I do hope Pixar realizes that their future will be brighter if they embrace different voices and let them flourish. Yo

I wonder how similar in tone this will be with THE LIFE OF CHUCK. Honestly I'm planning on watching both.Magical realism and whimsical time travel are hard to do well,but alas I'd rather see someone try that instead of just going and doing a lazy boring remake of something from late90s/early2000s.

Yet another great guest spot of Andrew Ahn on the podcast DEEP CUT. His latest film is a lovely and heartfelt remix of the Ang Lee classic. It features a great Youn Yuh-jung turn + a wonderful ensemble + terrific comedic set pieces + 1 of the most serene and warm epilogues you'll see all year.
