i swear that writing scenes where characters Talk About What Just Happened didn't used to be this difficult. these days i stare at my outline and i'm like "what. what do they talk about. they can't say 'well That just happened'. what do they say, past Sen, you dipshit,"

One coworker growled at me "When are you gonna grow up and lay off these childish cartoons?" I spun around in my chair "you think kids made these cartoons? This is what grown ups do when they aren't scared little cowards" and two weeks later his cube was covered in Calvin and Hobbes

One time, when I was working at a grocery store, I must've taken too long to count a customer's change and the customer remarked "Oh, so now they're hiring people that can't count?" right in front of me. Like, I know I'm not good at math, but c'mon... 😭

Bsky can be hard for people to get started on because it doesn't spoon feed you engaging rage bait and it's entirely what you make it. Take control of what you're seeing. Cultivate your feeds. Remember when it gets "boring" that's okay because then you sign off and do better things with your time.

A side-effect of the art community here being very artist-to-artist is you don't get reach/traction/engagement by being ✨skilled/talent/deserving/worthy✨ and then just sitting there twiddling your thumbs after pressing "Post". You do have to actively, visibly, verbally, uplift your creative peers.
