This month, my work with ʻŌiwi Parker Jones on the stop consonants /p, k/ in ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi for speakers from the 1970s-80s came out in Journal of Phonetics. I am honored to work with the Hawaiian community and grateful for the linguistic resources they have been meticulously maintaining.

Sociolinguists use linguistic variation to make sense of the world, and Lippi-Green explains brilliantly and passionately what that means for American English speakers. It's a textbook, but it's accessible and fun, and worth picking up even if you're only vaguely interested in sociolinguistics.
