I actually have a lot of romance about moving to NYC when I was 20. I packed a duffle bag & took greyhound across the country. Just hopped a bus to the next city. It meant that I asked a lot of strangers for directions. I got to hear some *insane* stories. I met people from all over the world.

I know this is probably bait, buuuuuuuuuuuut, I'm about to go on a road trip so this has already been on my mind. It actually rules to ask strangers for directions. If you're lucky you find someone who knows cool shit in that area. Stuff you'll never find online. If you're nice they tell you.
