I think you still need something to cushion the dpad, so it can slightly wobble, but also needs to be soft so it won't damage the device? Or does it work comfortable as is?

Finally fixed the PowerBook Duo! Wouldn't spin the HDD or boot, and turns out a MOSFET actually went open! I haven't encountered that one before, and it wasn't a visible fault either.

I've never properly tried to create a 3d model and thought maybe I'd learn over the next 6 months or so and this is what I created day 1 first attempt! It's all arbitrary and just learning how to make shapes and shit so not for anything in particular but for some freehand practice I'm proud of it 😅

Something you don't see very often. Inside an 8K Commodore PET model 2001-8N. Notice the 4 holes drilled in the front of the PCB to stop you buying the cheaper model and upgrading the RAM yourself. Yes, they actually did that. Although it wasn't too hard to add bodge wires, I have seen that done.

Shit I invented something! Was asked if I ever really gave touch controls a try for retro games. Problem is you can't hold a run button and jump by rolling your thumb. Counts for Only one touch. Thought to wear an o-ring to split touch but they are conductive! Sliced can separate multi touch inputs!

If we did away with keypads on phones for touch instead then why desktop keyboards and game controllers still have buttons?
