Just published the first chapter of my thesis! 🥰 E. coli regulates the levels of a translation release factor (RF2) via a *purposeful* frameshift during translation. We found that most other bacteria do this too and it's likely an ancient mechanism! journals.asm.org/doi/10.1128/...
