Violence is too often sloppy; it spills over. Misogynists kill a lot of men, racists kill white people, ICE in its attacks on immigrants and anyone who looks like them just killed a white US citizen. When you're a hammer, everything looks like a nail; when you're a gun everyone is a target.

I've always felt that the term SEND minimises the reality of disability and specifically obsfucates the social model idea that the barriers created in education are not an inevitable consequence of impairment, or the 'fault' of the individual, but are instead structural and our responsibility to fix

I really wish we would just bin the term SEND. It's so horribly euphemistic and widely misinterpreted. Not to mention completely baffling to those 'SEND kids' who will never have 'SEND' applied to them in any other context, including Higher Ed or employment, where they simply become 'disabled'...
