I really enjoyed it. Emma Thompson is a very unlikely action star, but she made it work. The script is the sort of smart you want in a thriller. Judy Greer is exceptionally bleak and unhinged as a woman with a desperate plan.

They hide in plain sight. Playing that right made him a star for all time.

Popeye is really a film only Robert Altman could have made. It is surprising and unusual. The screenplay was by Jules Pfeiffer, but my understanding is that it was given an uncredited re-write by a metric ton of cociane, who also produced.

This is true. Many of the Marvel films have a breezy sort of humor in them, but FP is a genuinely great comedic actor and a compelling lead. Great combo in an action film.
