Reading back through my latest WIP and keep coming across 70 year-old Bill's wife. She's been referred to as Elsie, Alice and now Mabel,and I'm not even a third of the way through reading it 🙈. This is why first drafts don't get published.

I had the ultimate "I really do have ADHD" moment this morning. Whilst prepping tomorrow's Christmas dinner, I had to stop 5 minutes in and hunt for a screwdriver to tighten the loose pan handle, before then emptying the dustbin, and filling the sink with hot water. Knowing allows self-compassion.

As someone who is autistic, routine is essential for my life, but the ADHD side of my brain often likes to abandon that routine. But today I achieved everything on my list, and the mindfulness techniques I've been practicing means I've enjoyed so many aspects of it. Today was a GOOD day!

Currently bingeing #NYPDBlue on Disney+. I was too young to watch it when it originally aired in the UK, but my parents were big fans. Any other fans on this app?

Today has been a very good day! I added another 2k words to my latest writing project, put up the outdoor Christmas lights, and made great progress on a project at work. Buzzing with happy #AuDHD energy. If only every day could be this productive 🙄

As an #AuDHD #author, I'm finally realising it's okay not to want to appear at every book festival and launch party. I'm never going to be the social butterfly that is required for such engagements. It can be so overwhelming. So, I will appear when I feel able. AND THAT'S OKAY.

Today was not a great day, and I really struggled to stay focused. My writing was also a challenge. But I now understand that being #AuDHD some days can be like this. The difference post-diagnosis is that I'm learning to practice self compassion.
