It’s just over a month to go until COP30 and climate finance continues to underpin many UNFCCC negotiation tracks. Making progress on the quantity and quality of finance will be crucial for progressing the climate finance agenda of the coming years.

Gender and social inequalities often result in unequal access to Early Warning Systems. In Senegal, @practicalaction.bsky.social uses its 'Missing Voices' approach to ensure marginalized perspectives are captured and integrated into all preparedness and response measures.

As climate adaptation needs increase, is this the solution to closing the finance gap?

For rural communities in the Municipality of Mangatarem, the Philippines, distances to health centres can be significant. During and following hazard events, access can be even more difficult due to damaged roads and bridges, causing interruptions in vital health services for vulnerable groups.

According to @unep.org's Adaptation Gap report, US$300 billion per year at a minimum is needed to address the adaptation needs of developing countries. These needs are approximately ten times higher than current annual international public adaptation finance flows, indicating a large funding gap.

Adaptation Finance is more urgent than ever, and with that comes increasing hopes and expectations that the private sector can fill the adaptation finance gap. A new report from @zcralliance.bsky.social presents new evidence and analysis about the realities of this.
