The impacts of climate change are intensifying. Yet adaptation efforts are not keeping up with the scale and urgency of emerging risks. A new report from @granthamlse.bsky.social takes a step toward closing this gap by analysing 902 adaptation-relevant laws and policies across 35 countries.

Government action on climate adaptation is accelerating. Our new research, funded by the @zcralliance.bsky.social, shows that 75% of adaptation‑relevant laws and policies have been adopted since the Paris Agreement in 2015, and almost half since 2020.

Incidents of extreme heat are becoming more frequent, more intense, and more deadly. Their impacts are not felt by everyone equally; women (especially those who are pregnant), children, the elderly, outdoor workers, and low-income communities are often at greater risk.
