Disasters & emergencies take an immense toll not only on people’s physical health, but on their mental health & wellbeing too. Addressing global mental health and psychosocial needs is a vital part of the IFRC’s network work supporting healthy communities. There is no health without mental health.

A lack of food kills more slowly, but just as surely as a bomb. The declaration of famine in #Gaza is not merely a reflection of urgency, it is an unequivocal call to action. Humanitarians need protection from all that threatens them.

The recent earthquake in Afghanistan has had a severe humanitarian impact, affecting more than 1.3 million people and leaving hundreds of homes destroyed or damaged. The IFRC is coordinating closely with the Afghan Red Crescent, providing support to the affected people. Urgent support is needed.
