On July 13, 2018, my daughter was chilling in our apartment with her best friend, ready to celebrate her 15th birthday on the 15th. She would have to return to CHLA the day after her birthday for her second round of chemo... but for the moment, all felt peaceful.

Every time I'm at a library in a different state I check to see if they have books by people I know and often they do!! Here's some by @jordanharper.bsky.social and @swierczy.bsky.social 🥰 at the Bryan Public Library in Bryan-College Station, TX

Another thing to mention for people who don't live in LA. Most of LA is very chill and peaceful right now. There's a huge Pride fest going on, countless farmer's markets, tourists walking around, families at the parks, people walking their dogs. It's a big place.

In the last 20 or so minutes I’ve seen LAPD officers shove women to the ground without provocation, rip a sign out of a man’s hand and then swing a baton into his leg and raise a less-lethal launcher to aim directly at a protester (which I’m 99% is a major policy violation.)

This is an amazing podcast, and very much worth your time. I mean, look at this lineup!
