A while back I picked @binarystar.games Apocalypse Frame to run a mech game. I want to call out how the example of play does such a good job of setting tone and so clearly got he assignment of "appealing to Armored Core fans." The example of combat here does two things really well. 1/? #TTRPG

All new molds, the leaf shapes are really good, they're thin enough to have a good mouth feel but thick enough to not break in the mold. The dinosaurs are just a bit too thick. The bars are really good but a couple broke in the mold. I love the little cacao pods on them. #chocolatemaking

"Fiction first" does NOT mean fiction takes priority over mechanics. It does not mean ignore rules to achieve specific fictional results. Likewise, "system matters" does NOT mean mechanics take priority over fiction. And it certainly doesn't mean ignore the comfort and safety of tour players.

For my Apocalypse Frame game, the system is good for mechs but has nothing for out of mech time. (There are kind of rules but I don't like them.) So I have found a solution by adding an entirely new game to it:

For the first time in a long time, I get to run an rpg. Apocalypse Frame beat out Lancer based on setting and ease of running.
