The most sinister part of my debug map is the Wall of Edge Cases, where I test all of the props that have given the movement system trouble Back in early Ch.1 days that specific truck at that specific angle would cram you through the ground and out of the map #gamedev

Reworked the tutorial system entirely! Now players get notified of new tips, and can choose to read them or just ignore it and read it later btw you'll never guess what happens at the end of the video #gamedev #madewithunity

The polishing continues on E1M2! A big optimization pass on this area got the average framerate from ~90fps up to ~180-200! Originally this view would be rendering about 1.8M verts - but some much-needed cleanup on some costly meshes chopped it all the way down to 700k #gamedev

This one might be controversial - the Field Kit has been changed a bit to give it a little "bandaging" animation, which ties up your off-hand and slows the player down. It's easy to interrupt though, and you can still blow cultists away with one-handed weapons! #gamedev #unity

The Shoulder Check just keeps on giving 😂😂 So turns out if you throw a hatchet then Dash into it, you just freakin' LAUNCH it, basically turning it into a long-distance decap machine #gamedev

The final map of CULTIC Chapter Two is complete! With that, all maps are finished, and Ch.2 is playable front to back! Now begins the gargantuan task of testing/QA, and a huge optimization pass over the whole thing! Still some road left, but closer than ever! #gamedev #unity

With the Shoulder Check being identical to the Kick, that means you can pretty much just launch your shield at enemies by dropping it and immediately dashing into it 😅 #gamedev

Continuing to clean up old systems, this time tackling the old water surface code. It was pretty difficult to reliably stay on the surface of water before, but now you'll stay surfaced unless you fall in at <x> speed or are pressing the descend/crouch key #gamedev #unity

Threw together some "draw / stow" audio and recycled some of the raise/lower sprites to make weapon swapping a bit more immersive! #gamedev #unity

Adepts have gotten a major buff - they're much tankier, more aggressive, can do cluster tosses, and their armor isn't just cosmetic anymore They're still doofuses though and locking them down with Shoulder Checks is super fun #gamedev #unity3d

Since the Shoulder Check is functionally identical to the Kick, I found out you can use it to return projectiles 😅 The CheckTech is -deep- #gamedev #unity3d

Since Dashes are limited now, I've been trying to find ways to spice them up a bit, so now, dashing into some objects/enemies will give 'em a Shoulder Check! (or a Shield Bash with a shield out) Low damage, high force -*really* good for interrupting attacks! #gamedev #unity3d

Shield overhaul inbound! They're now fully 3D, have a shield bash that replaces the kick while wielding it, and can be planted into the ground as temporary cover. It'll be fun to see how this changes folks' survival runs! #gamedev #unity3d
