Forced myself to get out of my gaming rut and just started up Resident Evil 2 Remake. This is only my 2nd RE game after finishing Requiem last month and the DNA has always been there. I am loving it so far and glad to be playing as Leon again. Feels good to be back gaming again.

Saw the Super Mario Galaxy Movie this morning and it was really fun. I am an enormous Star Fox fan, so getting anything at all after an absolute DROUGHT was much needed. It was an ice cream cone of a movie! Something sweet that melts pretty quickly. But who cares? Me the family had fun!

Now that I have the gaming PC, I bought the Resident Evil Remake Trilogy on Steam (they're on sale!), and I am so excited to play through 2, 3, 4 after playing Requiem as my first entry in the series. Can't wait to get started!

The pushback against NVIDIA in particular was really heartening, and then OpenAI saying they're shuttering Sora was also huge. There is momentum right now, but I'm hoping everyone keeps their foot on the pedal. It's working.

I'm with @kharisology.bsky.social on all of this. We need to be even louder about our hatred of AI. They are on their heels and they are back pedaling, but all of these companies need to be pushed to the brink. Every single one of them needs to feel the pain from these stupid decisions.

OpenAI, and generative AI in general, is just a huge ponzi scheme. It's all smoke and mirrors that regular people can see through immediately. It's akin to a toy for most people that they get bored with after awhile. I hope OpenAI completely craters sooner rather than later.

When you get a new/upgraded PC, your first game is Cyberpunk 2077 or Red Dead Redemption 2 or Forza Horizon 6. When I got a new PC, my first game was Stardew Valley. We are not the same. I need to take a screenshot of it, but holy shhhh you can see so much of the farm on screen! 😅

Time really doesn't mean anything anymore since 2020. Something will say "it's been one year since this was released" or "it's been 5 years since this person passed away." You could've told me that happened 2 months ago or 20 years ago and I'd believe you at this point.

I did something unthinkable yesterday and traded my PS5 into GameStop. Why? Two reasons: 1. I don't play it at all and I don't see anything coming up that I need it for. 2. I got $400 worth of Switch 2 stuff in exchange for it, and the Switch 2 is really all I need at the moment.

The sheer amount of people celebrating Sora's death (the AI thing, not the KH thing) on the timeline gives me hope for humanity... or maybe I'm in an echo chamber... but if I am in an echo chamber, then it's a great one to be in!

We are in a peak "tv shows for dads" era right now. I have never seen a single episode of Yellowstone, but now it has like 50 spinoffs plus a bunch of other ranch TV shows trying to ape it. Dads are eating well right now.

My favorite thing to do is call a game I love a "top 5 game, easily" knowing full well that I've got like 20 games in my top 5 at this point...
