Game #34 of 2025 completed: The Seance of Blake Manor. An open ended detective game that is so thrilling in so many ways. The story and writing are equally strong. This game is very cool. I hope more people play it. Great work by @spookydoorway.bsky.social

Played Dispatch episode 5 + 6 and The Seance of Blake Manor tonight. Dispatch was fantastic yet again and had 1 moment that is in my running for top 20 moments of the year. Hit a pivotal point in Blake Manor and that moment is 100% hitting my top 20 this year. Maybe top 10. I LOVE VIDEO GAMES.

Aaand episode 6 was the best one yet. This freaking game! Cannot wait for Wednesday. My faith is high that they will close it out strong. Props to AdHoc. They really pulled this off.

It's truly underdiscussed how crazy it is that Chex Quest was a good video game. Video games made as a pure marketing tool have like a 5% hit rate.

Episode 5 of Dispatch is probably my lowest rated. But then I still end up at an 8.5. The ending stuff was so good. And that was an intense choice. First time I hit pause because I had no clue lol Also the credits song is so fucking hilarious

1 week was the perfect gap between eps. Rather than seeing people hype it once or twice when they finish, everyone is hyping it every single week. Lots of extra word of mouth! But more than anything, it speaks to the quality of the game. It's that good.

I'll never forget my first time with a Steam Deck. My younger cousin had it at a wedding (lol). I was amazed by how good it felt. I asked him what games he had. He showed me how to look at his library. I then scrolled through dozens of hentai games while he watched.

4 games that took me outside of my comfort zone, changing my perspective on gaming over the years.

I was pretty worried that Dispatch wouldn't be all that popular. New IP. Wasn't sure how much juice Telltale had in terms of sales anymore. I'm so happy to see this. So deserved. If eps 5 and 6 hit, I'll be truly ready to say that this is better than my fave Telltale game (Wolf Among Us).

Didn't realize Polymarket has Game of the Year odds. Expedition 33 at an 82% chance to win checks out. Silksong as the closest competitor at 8% also feels right. I was leaning setting the line at -300 in my future article, which implies about 75%

Just finished a side quest arc in The Seance of Blake House. Got surprisingly intense, and had a pretty awesome conclusion. You could easily play the game and miss it. This game has its freaking hooks in me man. It also really encapsulates why I love indies.

Pikachu is by far my favorite starter Pokémon in Pokémon Yellow.

Just finished the demo. I'm still concerned that the time mechanic will hurt one of my favorite elements of a game like this. But there's so much cool stuff here that I had to buy it. Will likely have some early thoughts tomorrow in my gaming round up post!

I think what I respect the most about Ball x Pit is how hard they tried, if that makes sense. Felt like they didn't mail it in anywhere. I have my qualms with the city building but they freaking went for it. I can't believe how different they made so many of the playable characters.

As I've said many times, I don't really like replaying games. But I've thought hard about replaying the first few episodes of Dispatch multiple times now. Wednesday cannot come soon enough. The game has its hooks in DEEP

I do think those with VERY hardline stances against any use of AI are destined to come across many moral conundrums, and it will get increasingly difficult to stick with those stances. My podcast has really taught me about some of the "efficiency" tools that AI has.
