#hyperfocus is common in the neurodivergent community. Being so focused on one thing that nothing else is noticed - hunger, temperature - even pain. On the flip side, this intense focus can also mean being extremely productive, so don't fall into the trap of thinking all hyperfocus is to be avoided!

Getting a powerchair or mobility scooter into a vehicle can take a lot of space. For example to allow for the length of a ramp (1-3m), plus space for the wheelchair user to be able to drive onto it safely - so they can be lined up straight to the ramp before driving up it (another 1-3m).

When we don't have an easily identifiable 'marker' of disability (like a wheelchair) the assumption is that we are not disabled. Constantly needing to explain/justify why we can't do things, or do things differently - is exhausting. And so here's a few of our products that can help ppl understand.

I'm working on a flyer re non-disabled ppl parking in blue badge spaces. Currently trying to get across: It has a real impact,disabled ppl may not be able use the facilities because of it. Don't do it, even 'just for a minute'. BUT also not making ppl who've forgotten to put their blue badge up -

Today hasn’t been quite as much rest as planned. Got a wheelchair tyre puncture and had to drop in to the local bike shop - who fixed it nice and quickly.

Thanks to everyone who's given feedback on this autonomic dysfunction card already, I've ended up making a lot of small changes - esp to the symptoms list as a result. Please let me know what you think! I have another few days before I have to finalise it for printing.

I just nearly got caught by the ‘should’! The ‘you should get more done!’ - thankfully I spotted it in time: nope. I just had a shower and NEED to lie horizontal to recover PLUS it’s 26 degrees. Hibernation til evening is the wise choice, so I’m doing that instead of housework. #disability

I'm scared that a huge issue is not being aware: On Aug 29th the US is removing the de minimis rule on all packages. Being international, de minimis meant no one payed tariffs on my goods since it was under $800. Now there will be a $80-200 fee to receive my art. Even for a $5 sticker. 🔸(1/4)

Had a little moment of sad when drafting some social media posts. I use many em dashes - because that's how my brain works. But I've seen so many 'you can tell it's AI because of the em dashes' that I find myself editing them out. Changing my writing style to reduce the chance I get dismissed as AI.
