Just ordered first ed copies of Bleeding Edge and Mason & Dixon, by Thomas Pynchon. Having ploughed my way through Gravity's Rainbow last year, I must be a masochist! Although I've heard that these two are a little more approachable. We will see!

Just finished Echo Maker by Richard Powers. I've loved all the books of his that I've read previously, particularly Overstory and Playground. But this one left me bewildered. It was nothing like as readable, and after reading the last of its 570 pages, I did think "what the f was that about?".

It's 2026 and it appears that only Mark Gatiss remains capable of writing historical/horror drama for the BBC. Either that or he has the most phenomenal kompromat on the organization.
