#PitchDis #writesky I'm a chronic overwriter. The bulk of my revisions to my current novel focused on getting the word count down, but it felt like a great accomplishment when I finished! Thankfully I feel like I learned some better outlining skills and my next projects won't be quite as long.

What I listen to to focus on writing always changes. Sometimes it's dead silence, sometimes white noise, sometimes an instrumental album, be it classical or modern folk or a game soundtrack. Today it's "loop Dance of the Knights by Prokofiev indefinitely" What are you listening to today? #writesky

Weather. A storm that traps characters in place. A heatwave that makes tempers run short. The combined beauty and deadliness of winter. Omens from the stars. Restructuring. If there's a scene I'm not excited to write, it has to change. Doesn't have to be a big change, just enough for me to have some fun. A reader can tell when the energy drops. If I'm dragging myself through a scene, I don't want my reader to feel the same way & stop reading. #writesky
