In the photo, the narrow footpaths that take up maybe 20% of the area are actually carrying more people than the road which takes up 80%. It’s an absurd situation, the allocation of space is completely backwards.

This picture perfectly sums up Ireland’s broken, car-centric transport system. Cars are prioritised above all else, while pedestrians and cyclists are forced to share slithers of space. This system doesn’t just fail—it harms us all.

Cars > Children’s Safety. That’s the Irish transport system in a nutshell

Traffic jams on the south circular road as cyclists- primary school, secondary school and college students cycle on the footpath. Absolute madness how unsuited this area is for pedestrians and cyclists. Tell me again who was opposing the cycle lane??
