Don't self-experiment with psychological hazards! I can't stress this enough! One of the reasons why I wrote the original LLMentalist post two years ago (softwarecrisis.dev/letters/llme...) was I wanted people to understand that chatbots and the like are a psychological hazard.

Related: self-experimentation is _exactly_ how smart people get pulled into homeopathy or naturopathy. The smart person's self-identity means they can't believe their own psychological biases are fooling them. That's why smart people are more prone to fall for cults, quacks, and extremist ideologies

The speed of writing code has never, and will never be the bottleneck. The bottleneck, the limiting factor, is always in the thinking about the code and how it works, understanding it. People who use chatgpt to write code are literally removing the only part of programming that is actually useful.
