One of the things we get to do in a subscription model is be even more obstinate and irritating about sourcing and transparency - it takes a minute but as
@gruber.foo
writes, it becomes clearer why we’re such brats about it over time

I'm so disappointed in the last arc of
#Arcane
. There wasn't any emotional payoff to anything & the last three episodes feel disconnected from the rest of the season. Why did they rush it - if they didn't want to do another season, they could've atleast added a few more to this one.

I hate how this has made it impossible to have genuine conversation about any piece of media. All criticism is co-opted by the anti-woke freaks & is drowned out by their bigoted screaming.

People keep talking about "supporting independent journalism" & thats a good thing, but independent journalism is also far more vulnerable to threats from the state.

I really hope this happens. This might work to atleast bring wider awareness to Alex's batshit ramblings & will diminish his "prophet" mythology.

This is why I have doubts about the viability of the democratic party. RW propaganda has poisoned the brand, maybe irrevocably.

This is an open world UE4 game, so unless they specifically work to minimise stutters, it's gonna be a stutterfest. Hope they make a good port.

New from 404 Media: got hundreds of internal Secret Service emails where it said tracking peoples' location without a warrant was okay because citizens have clicked 'accept' on app terms of service. This is the data that powers tools like Locate X

AOC asked her followers who split their ballots either for Trump/her or Trump/downballot Dem to explain why and posted the replies. Like how do you even start to educate these people when the information ecosystem is so fragmented.

For anyone looking for a good Android app for bluesky, I recommend
@openvibe.bsky.social
. It feels better than the native app and it also lets you use browse & post to mastodon & threads as well.

Arcane season 2 ep 3 was so incredible. It has so many jaw dropping moments. I screamed at the TV when happened. So glad the makers made the Caitlyn Vi relationship explicit instead of leaving it as subtext.

I didn't think it was possible to improve upon the style of Arcane but season 2 has done it. It looks out of this world. Every frame is a painting.

This why we can never have a "left version" of Joe Rogan or Jordan Peterson. They are entertaining because they dont have to speak the truth. Truth is boring. Normality doesnt have bombast.

I've seen well intentioned people saying that we need to "fix" the democratic party. No. This is what we are dealing with. Dems are a poisoned brand. We need to build something new from the ground up that doesn't come with the baggage of the democratic party.

wrote a great article about the result. People wanted this. No amount of tweaking the Dems campaign could've stopped this.

I keep seeing excuses about how the electorate was misled. No, people chose this. They chose to vote for a fascist & a rapist. And no amount of excuses are going to fix the fundamental issue of people wanting fascism.

Everyone who voted for Trump is responsible for this result - every single one. People talk about them like they are toddlers & were somehow led astray when they made a choice to vote for fascism & chaos. Talking about demographics is politicians. We need to talk about how we deal with these people.

Ever since Smol Ame, I've been thinking about how I might make platformers based on the other Myth members, and I finally decided to prototype them. Here's Calli. She steals souls and uses them for double jumps. (sound on, I explain the mechanics as I play)

The "effective altruism" and "effective accelerationism" ideologies that have been cropping up in AI debates are just a thin veneer over the typical blend of Silicon Valley techno-utopianism, inflated egos, and greed. Let's try something else.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think threads has potential. The app runs great, there are already a lot of creators I follow on there and it is very active already unlike a lot of other Twitter clones.

I hope Instagram threads takes off because as much as I love bluesky, I don't it'll ever be fully mainstream (and I don't think it should be) and we need a widely used alternative for Twitter.
